Rebecca Lazenby

Rebecca is an architect and interior designer based in University Park, Texas, a residential enclave bordering downtown Dallas. She graduated with a Bachelors of Architecture from Auburn University’s School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture. As part of her education, she participated in the Rural Studio, an renown off-campus design-build outreach program in rural Alabama that focuses on the values of place, beauty, economy, and meaningful purpose that benefits the community. After her experience with hands-on construction building homes for families in need, she broadened her exposure to architecture through the study abroad program, a traveling program with the purpose of studying classicism throughout Europe. This unique experience expanded her understanding and appreciation of balance, proportion, order, and delightful artistry, which has become a foundation stone for design principals in her own practice of architecture and interiors.

Rebecca worked for two decades in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, and Birmingham, Alabama, working with prominent commercial architecture firms on award winning designs and diverse project types. An opportunity to branch out on her own to create prototype homes for a lakeside community made her realize her love for smaller scale projects. Residential design presented the chance to have a hands-on approach to all aspects of design and the ability to work on the details that so often make a project. The best perk of all, however, is the close collaboration with clients on their personal projects. Being a key part in building a family legacy through architecture is the biggest reward. Rebecca Lazenby established her practice in 2015 and now focuses full time on residential architecture.

A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.
